Understand the format
Number cards carry their printed values; face cards count as ten. An ace can count as one or eleven when the hand allows it. A total above twenty-one is a bust.
What to read on the screen
A soft hand can use an ace as eleven without busting. The available hit, stand, split or double actions depend on the room and hand state. Dealer instructions, natural-hand treatment and settlement rules vary.
A worked reading example
Ace + 6 can count as 7 or 17. Adding a 9 lets the ace count as one for a total of 16. Do not count the ace as eleven automatically after every draw.
A useful question to ask
What should I check before using another version’s rules?+
Check the full game name, selected variant and active help screen. The example above explains a format; it does not replace your room’s rules, controls or settlement conditions.
